Angry Bird Cake Fondant

A friend ordered this cake and I was so excited to create it. Simple 8-inch round 1 and a half tier vanilla cake with an a=Angry Bird motif. I tried to put as much as angry bird character to complete set. There are few character missing because the cake is not that big and I didn't have much space. (Oh well~!)

Angry bird and the bad piggies!

I started with making the angry birds and piggies

Everything is edible,

Pirate Ship Cake Ideas

On my son's birthday party I made this other cake... A Ship-shaped cake. First time creating a boy pirate and I think I did a cook job. I had a problem about mixing my colors but finish product I was so proud of myself.

my very first -- a boy pirate
I was so happy with the outcome. Lesson learned-- be careful with using  dark colored fondant when connecting to light colored fondant. My red bled a little bit with the skin-toned fondant.

I made a treasure chest--made of all fondant.

combo: treasure chest and pirate boy all done!

Best part is seeing  my son's face on his birthday all happy with his pirate ship cake.

Simple Pirate Cake Idea

My first ever fondant. It was my son's birthday and we had a pirate theme for him. On his birthdate, I made this simple fondant cake to try and feel how hard it is to use fondant on cakes. It was a fun, lots to learn experience but I think with first time using fondant, I am not bad. I took basic wilton class and the rest are self learning online. Thank goodness we have internet. Lots of mistakes I did and try my very fist to hide them and I think it came out ok.

Covering the cake with fondant was hard but from what I've learned it's all about covering those cracks and flaws of the cake *grin*

As you can see... LOTs of cracks!

Add border on the crack and tried to hide them as much as I can.. Oh well!

FINISH PRODUCT!
